This trailer has captured my heart! My good friend, Christina Heller is the producer of this amazing documentary about changing oneself and changing the world…

“You Are God is a documentary about being the change you want to see in the world.

It is a journey into the frontier of conscious evolution, following the trails of Americans who wander off the beaten path to create a new reality. This is the story of several extraordinary pioneers who have dedicated their lives to building a better future of their own design, testing the limits of human potential in the streets and in the fields, through struggle and success.

The film focuses on two organizations specifically:

Our School at Blair Grocery – New Orleans – a New York public school teacher turned a hurricane wrecked grocery store into an urban farm that teaches at-risk kids gardening and life skills. They were recently profiled in the NYTimes.

Open Source Ecology – rural Missouri – founded by a physicist, the project is a network of farmers and engineers who are building a global village construction set, which are the 50 machines necessary to build small, sustainable civilizations (including electricity and water). Recently profiled on NPR.

These people illustrate that it is possible to transform one’s life completely despite economic and societal barriers by utilizing one of our greatest resources: creativity. There are extraordinary ways to live and thrive that most Americans never imagine.”

Just in case you haven’t heard, you can catch me LIVE ON AIR every Tuesday from 4-6pm on RADIO LILY (www.radiolily.com)

Not only is Miss Lily’s Variety my favorite store in NYC (selling every book, record, shirt or piece of jewerly that a reggae junkie could every want) but it also has a radio station. And it’s attached to my favorite restaurant, Miss Lily’s. You would think I’d camp out permanently.

Instead of pitching a tent in the juice bar, I spin live on air every Tuesday. I DJ based on how I feel that day, weaving through an array of music from moombahton to classic soul, dancehall to lovers rock. So make sure to tune in!
